Community Colleges (48 Institutions)

All 48 Illinois community colleges participate in the program. Since they already have open enrollment (no GPA requirement), the program serves primarily as a reminder to students that community college is always an option.

Community college is often the best financial decision — especially if your student plans to transfer to a four-year university. In-district tuition averages around $3,500-$5,000/year.

Why UIUC and UIC Are Not Included

The University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and the University of Illinois Chicago — the state's two most selective public universities — do not participate in One Click College Admit.

Why: Both campuses have competitive, holistic admissions processes that consider more than GPA alone (essays, activities, test scores). A GPA-only threshold wouldn't fit their admissions model.

What they're doing instead: Both campuses will run targeted outreach campaigns encouraging high-performing Illinois students to apply through traditional channels (Common App or the university's own portal).

Bottom line for families: If your student is targeting UIUC or UIC, they still need to complete a full application. Appffeine can track those applications alongside any Direct Admission schools.

Comparing Your Options

When your student is admitted to multiple schools simultaneously, the comparison becomes critical:

| Factor | Why It Matters | |---|---| | Net Cost | Tuition ranges from $10,500 to $15,000 — but financial aid changes everything | | Graduate Earnings | Median earnings vary significantly by school and major | | Program Strength | Not every school excels in every major | | Location | Chicago, suburbs, small town — these are very different experiences | | Campus Size | From 2,800 to 20,600 students — different learning environments |

Appffeine lets you add all your admitted schools and compare these factors side-by-side using federal data from the U.S. Department of Education.
