Frequently Asked Questions
Can I edit my Common App after submitting to one school?
Yes, you can edit most sections before submitting to additional schools. Once submitted to a specific school, that version is final for that school.
Should I apply Early Decision or Regular Decision?
Early Decision is binding — only apply ED to your absolute top choice. Early Action is non-binding and gives you an earlier decision. Regular Decision gives you the most time. Consider your financial situation: ED commits you before seeing financial aid offers from other schools.
How long does it take to fill out Common App?
Most students spend 2-4 weeks completing their Common App, including essays. Start early (August-September) for the best experience.
What if a school isn't on Common App?
Check if they accept the Coalition Application or have their own portal. You can still track these schools alongside your Common App schools in Appffeine.
